Why should you consider a car fit for winter?
As we all know, living in Britain means that inevitably we’re going to be hit by extreme winter weather, so having a car that is ready to tackle these conditions is very important. Roads can be icy, temperatures can drop and there is a good chance of all-round snow chaos.
What makes a good winter car?
First up, tyres! During winter the cold conditions can make your tyres have less grip due to a drop in the temperature. Good tread depth and inflation level are great way of making sure you are going to be safe on the roads.
All-wheel drive is a crucial feature of a great winter car as it gives you more grip when accelerating, preventing you from getting stuck in the snow. 4x4’s and SUV’s give you a good clearance from the ground, so if the snow does come falling, it won’t get stuck underneath your vehicle allowing you to get on your way safely.
