Car Store team up with St John Ambulance to keep our stores safe

We’re delighted to announce that all of our stores will be fitted with a defibrillator with the help of our friends at St John Ambulance.

We have enlisted the help of the charity to ensure that anyone working at, or visiting a Car Store, can be safe in the knowledge that they have the security of a potentially life-saving device, should anything unfortunate happen. With the continuous and rapid changes in vehicle technology - particularly in automotive workshops - and the anticipated increase in supply and servicing of electrified vehicles, we felt it was essential to provide all of our stores with a defibrillator.

This initiative kicked-off at our Coventry store and this was the start of a nationwide rollout for all of our locations across the UK. We’re committed to providing peace of mind for all crew members, customers and members of the public in the event of an emergency and having an AED (automated external defibrillator) available at all stores will contribute greatly to this.

On Monday 10 September, Steven Hargreaves, Regional Director (West) for St John Ambulance joined Andy Verrall, our Head of Business at Car Store Coventry, as well as crew members from our store to unveil the defibrillators. Also in attendance to mark to occasion were 2 local volunteers from the charitable organisation who showed our crew how to use the machine.

Steven Hargreaves, Regional Director (West) for St John Ambulance, said: “For each minute that passes, the survival rates of a casualty who has suffered a cardiac arrest drops by 10%. This is why quick access to a defibrillator is vital.”

If you want to find out more about our commitment, pop into your local store today and find out more.
